Matthew Fox Shares Thoughts On Life And ‘Lost’
Matthew Fox sat down with Emmy magazine to chat about his future plans, his marriage and to reflect on his last season of ‘Lost’.
Looking back on his “Lost” journey:
“I have a lot of mixed emotions. It’s been an incredible experience for me, and the creative part of it has been beautiful. I’m really enjoying working with this character. It’s going to be sad when it ends. But at the same time I’m looking forward to moving on.”
Matthew says that he’s ready for the leap to film:
“I think I’m ready to take the number-one position on a call sheet on the right kind of film and to play that role [of leading man]. This is what I love about acting, challenging myself and showing different aspects of myself through characters.”
He’s been married to his wife Margherita for 18 years – they’ve been together for a total of 23 years! He’s asked to share their “secrets” to a long marriage:
“I really don’t have any. It just feels right. If I were to say I feel proud, it would imply that we’ve worked so hard to keep this together. But it feels much easier that it’s supposed to be. Maybe it’s that we fight well, and neither of us are people who hold things in.”
Matthew shared that acting never crossed his mind until he saw a flyer looking for commercial actors when he was in college.
“My father didn’t allow a TV in the house until I was in high school. It wasn’t so much that he was anti-TV as he was pro-reading and stimulating our imaginations.”
