I still can’t believe this story! Yesterday afternoon, screen stud Christian Bale got into an altercation while attempting to meet Chen Guangcheng, a blind lawyer and civil rights activist, who has been under house arrest since Sept. 2010. However, once Christian got close to Chen’s home in the Chinese city Linyi, he was greeted by guards and punches instead.

As the Huffington Post reported, Christian, whose film The Flowers of War is set to hit theaters later this month, traveled to Chen’s home with a CNN camera crew on Dec. 15. Things took a turn for the worse, however, when the guards protecting the home prevented Christian and the crew from getting inside, ultimately leading to multiple shoves and swings being thrown.

While Christian obviously didn’t get the chance to meet Chen, he was seriously touched by the activist’s story and what local individuals have been doing.

“I’m not being brave doing this,” said Christian to the CNN crew. “The local people who are standing up to the authorities and insisting on going to visit Chen and his family and getting beaten up for it and my understanding is getting detained for it, I want to support what they’re doing.”

With a new film and multiple projects among the many things on Christian’s mind, reps for the Oscar winner insist that all he wanted to do was help.

“He’s been following the story and he was just really moved by the story and what this man’s been trying to do and it’s impossible [to see him],” said Bale’s rep to the Huffington Post. “and he thought he was there for work, and he would try and see if he could help. [It was] just really being moved on a personal level and that is what he chose to do.”

Christian Bale is spotted back in L.A. after finishing up filming ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Christian has said that this will be his last go-round in the “Batsuit.  Are you disappointed with that news? Or are you ready for a break from the caped crusader? I wonder how long they’ll wait for another “reboot” after that?

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is now shooting in NYC, and Christian Bale is suited up in his full Batman costume for this fight scene with Tom Hardy, who is Bane. I bet sometimes Christian envies Tom’s costume- LOL.

Matthew Modine, who plays Nixon, looks like he really got a kick out of all the mayhem, doesn’t he? He’s in the uniform (I think it’s a dress uniform for a police officer or something). Are you looking forward to ‘The Rise of the Dark Knight’?

The handsome leading men of ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ were hard at work this afternoon in NYC.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Christian Bale were spotted filming their scenes – and looking quite dapper in uniform and suit. 

I guess this answers my question of ‘are they done filming‘ yet.

I’m really looking forward to this one!  The cast alone is just amazing – old and new -  Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy and on and on!

Batman Christian Bale was spotted at LAX with his wife Sibi and their daughter Emmaline. The Oscar-winning actor escorted his girls through the airport with a smile, despite the paparazzi presence.

I wonder if Christian is finished with ‘The Dark Knight Rises’?  Are you excited about the newest Batman movie?  I can’t wait to see Anne Hathaway in action as Catwoman!

The men of “The Dark Knight Rises” were spotted at LAX today to catch flights out.  Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Gary Oldman were all spotted heading out at the same time, so I wonder if they’re traveling to the same place?

Joseph had a good time goofing around with a cameraman but Christian seemed to be his always-serious self.

I can’t believe we have a whole year until the movie comes out!  It seems SO FAR away.

Christian Bale and his wife Sandra Blazic walked the red carpet last night during the Oscars, dressed in all black with jeweled details. Christian wore an all black Gucci suit, watch and cufflinks, dressing it up with Harry Winston jewels. Although I love his suit, what is with the beard??

Christian won his very first Oscar last night for Best Supporting Actor, to the delight of many, for his role as boxer Dickie Ecklund in, The Fighter.
