Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman celebrated their engagement with a party last Saturday night. Her parents hosted the event, and 125 guests attended, but no celebrities.

“Anne had a smile on her face all night long,” the source says of the soirée. “With every friend and family member that approached her, that smile just got brighter.

“Some of the family was meeting each other for the first time. It was so very important for them to just have an amazing time introducing their families and making sure that everyone they knew and loved was on board.”

That’s one of the things I love about Anne: she seems so low-key and down-to-earth, despite being an A-list actress! I’m so happy she found love with Adam.

Rod Stewart was spotted arriving at Heathrow Airport with his wife, Penny Lancaster, and their two sons: Alistair and baby Aiden. I wonder if they spent Christmas in Las Vegas, where Rod started a two-year stint at Caesars Palace, or somewhere snowy?

Regardless, I’m sure it’s nice to get back to London to see their families. Hopefully they’ll have a Happy New Year!

Is there anything about this man that ISN’T sexy?  David Beckham seems to be the total package - good looking, talented, hard working, dedicated father and husband, and overall good-deed-doer.  (not a real word, I know!)

Today the soccer star was photographed as he visited with kids and their families at the Royal Melbourne Children’s Hospital in Australia.  He signed autographs and hung out with the children, hoping to brighten their day just a little.   He certainly brightened the day of that mom in blue – she’s blushing twelve shades of red over a kiss on the cheek!

This is scary!  Tori Spelling, pregnant with baby #3, Tweeted about a horrifying experience with the paps this morning.  They chased her and she wound up hitting a wall at her kids’ school!

Paparazzi chased me w/the kids 2school. I was trying to get away from him and had a pretty big accident. Took down whole wall of school. He thn STILL got out to try to get pics. 10 school moms chased him away. Wht will it take? Someone dying for paparazzi to stop? Going to dr now to check on baby. I think its just shock.

I hope everything is okay with the baby and that the kids (and Tori!) aren’t traumatized by the incident.  I love looking at pictures of celebrities and their families just as much as the next person, but not at the cost of someone’s safety.

Yesterday Gilbert Gottfried made several tasteless jokes about the tsunami in Japan. Today he took to Twitterto apologize:

I meant no disrespect, and my thoughts are with the victims and their families.

I sincerely apologize to anyone who was offended by my attempt at humor regarding the tragedy in Japan.

Even though the comments costs him his gig with Aflac, Howard Stern is sticking up for the comedian. Howard said that Aflac knew that “Gilbert’s schtick” has always been offensive jokes and that he shouldn’t have been fired for them.

Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t the only one in Hollywood who had a personal connection with the Arizona shootings. ‘One Tree Hill’ star Sophia Bush was related to the nine-year-old girl who was fatally shot on Saturday.

Celebrities were spotted getting their last minute workouts in before spending Thanksgiving with their families tomorrow.

Hugh Jackman was heading to the gym in NYC this afternoon. Hugh is looking buff, as always.

Twilight star Ashley Greene is another celeb who we always see taking her fitness seriously. I’m sure she’s even more committed to her workouts since filming has started on Breaking Dawn.

Coincidentally, these two are co-stars in a movie that feels like it’s NEVER going to get released: ‘Butter’ with Jennifer Garner! Now iMDb just lists 2011 as the year of release. Sigh.

Oddly enough this one is fact! BUT – it was totally an accident! The couple, who fell in love while filming the multiple Oscar winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ shared a lot during the making of the flick, including the punch mishap that happened while promoting the movie!

Freida explained;

“The only two people who can understand what happened on ‘Slumdog’ are the two of us. Even our families, who appreciate and support us, are still on the outside and that is why we hold it so very dear to our hearts.

“Small things bring so much joy to us, like when we were first doing the interviews. There was one time when Dev punched me in my face by mistake!”

Ouch! She must be really in love to see that as bringing her joy! I really liked ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and I was almost giddy when I heard that Patel and Pinto were a couple in real life.

I love hearing stories like this! Justin Bieber has teamed up with ‘Pencils of Promise’ to help raise money to build schools in developing countries.

According to Variety, the organization ‘partners with local communities to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. PoP works alongside each community to create self-sustaining projects that the families of each village build and maintain themselves.’

Scooter Braun, Justin’s manager stated that;

“Our main goal is to help kids around the world. Justin and I have an initiative with Pencils of Promise to help raise enough money to build 100 schools in developing countries around the world over the next two years.”

Good for Justin! It’s always nice to see the younger stars giving back and setting an example for their fans.
