People definitely seem to have strong feelings about Jennifer Lopez, don’t they? I remember her saying some pretty impolitic things back in the 90s, when she first became famous, and then the “Bennifer” debacle sent things into overdrive. Jennifer confessed in an interview that it gets tough for her sometimes.

“It’s hard sometimes, I’m not going to lie. I try to stay away from the media as much as I can. Sometimes. I try not to take it too personally, because I don’t think they do it just to me. But as a human being it feels like that. You feel like you’re the only one being picked on. But the truth is, they pick on everybody. They really don’t discriminate. I try to concentrate on all the great things I have going on in my life.”

That’s a great strategy! And despite her experiences, Jennifer says she wouldn’t stop her children, Emme and Max, from pursuing careers in show business.

“Here’s what I know about doing what I do – and obviously their dad is the same way. If they’re going to do it, there’s nothing I can do to stop them – and I’ll support them. But just like my mom, I’m going to make them go to school and I’m going to let them make that decision when they’re old enough to make that decision.

“I don’t want them to be in the business at a young age. I just don’t think they need that burden, that pressure. They should have a normal life – go to school, play, grow up. They should have a family life, as solid a foundation as I can give them. If they want to go off and be artists or singers or dancers or pilots or architects or anything – then they have my full support. My mom couldn’t stop me from [getting into this industry], I won’t be able to stop them from doing it.”

Makes sense to me! I’ve noticed we aren’t hearing as much about Jaden and Willow Smith these days: maybe Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are slowing things down a little for their kids after some of the outcry?

Jennifer Aniston set the record straight with InStyle magazine about the ever-lasting “love triangle” stories between ex-husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and herself. Jennifer was asked what the press gets wrong about her the most, and this was her answer:

“The triangle with my ex-husband – and that there’s a feud there. It’s constant. It’s a story headline that won’t go away, but it’s a money thing,” says Aniston, adding that people in the media make money off “a story that has nothing to do with reality.”

It seems like the story that just WON’T die! (Of course, Jennifer’s friends like Chelsea Handler don’t help matters.) However, Jennifer said she and Justin Theroux are still “going strong” and she’s in a “joyful and peaceful” place in her life. Good for her!

Heidi Klum enjoyed some girl time with her daughters, Leni and Lou: the three went out to lunch yesterday afternoon. Fun!

What’s not so fun for Heidi, according to reports, are her estranged husband’s interviews (while Heidi’s only tweeted once). Heidi reportedly has been telling people:

she’s “(ticked) off,” and has been telling everyone that Seal’s on-air soul-searching has been “so insensitive.”

Seal’s rep said the interviews were scheduled far in advance as part of his promotion for his new album. I’m surprised they didn’t wait to announce their split until after he’d done the media rounds. Maybe the early rumors forced them to announce their separation when they did.

Rumor has it that Russell Brand has already moved on from Katy Perry – less than a month after filing for divorce. US Weekly is reporting that Russell has started dating and is already talking about moving in with someone. Reportedly Katy is furious:

“She discovered through her friends. One of the women told a friend of hers and it got back to Katy.”

US Weekly also says that he’s talking negatively about Katy, as well.

“He’s spoken terribly about Katy to them.  Russell told (one girl) he wanted her to move in with him after the divorce is final.”

I don’t if I believe this one.  Some people do move on rather quickly, but it sounds a little fishy.  What do you think?  Will the media use his past to make it seem plausible that he’s back to his wild ways?

Sinead O’Connor’s on-again, off-again marriage is again off. Sinead says the reason for this split is her husband’s harsh treatment from the Irish media. She explained on her website:

Ireland is a very f***ed up country. Certain sections of our media are pure evil. These people, along with others caused enormous damage deliberately and maliciously to my innocent flower of a husband, purely because he was with me. And so his association with me became something very bad for his life. And slowly since we were married I became very ill as result of what was done to my husband and i was unable to cope. And became depressed..
The behaviour of one particular paper resulted in very serious damage to my husband and myself personally and consequently made the marriage untenable so that it is now over and I hope the media will kindly leave the poor man alone to get on with his life.
I will never again associate myself romantically with anyone as I could not bear to see these things done again to someone I love.

Poor Sinead: what on earth was the Irish media saying?! I guess Sinead is also explaining her rumored suicide attempt when she overdosed on pills and then went onto twitter asking for the contact information for a psychiatrist. Goodness!

I used to think Sinead was just eccentric; now I wonder if she isn’t truly troubled. It’s too bad Sinead’s marriage is over again, but maybe she needs to spend some time focusing on herself before getting into a relationship.

Rumor has it Jason Trawick is planning to whisk Britney Spears away for a mini-getaway in Las Vegas tonight, and he’ll pop the question! Jason reportedly has already asked Britney’s father for his permission to propose and has agreed to sign a prenuptial agreement.

So what will happen regarding the conservatorship? A source says:

“When Britney does get engaged, her father’s attorneys will notify the judge in her conservatorship case. It’s extremely within the realm of possibility that the conservatorship will end, and then Britney will get married. It will be a very smooth transition.”

People say Jason and Britney are extremely happy together.

“…they discuss marriage all the time. Britney is truly in love with Jason, and well, Jason has loved her for a very, very long time. Jason adores her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.”

I’d love to see these two get married, but I kinda hope the details of this story (a proposal this evening) aren’t true just because I’d like for Britney to be surprised, and she obviously won’t be if it’s gotten out in the media! We’ll have to wait and see…

Brooke Mueller nixed her original plan to try outpatient rehab following her cocaine possession arrest and has instead entered a full time inpatient facility. Her rep shared the change of plans with TMZ:

“After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction. She has already arrived at the facility and, out of respect for her privacy, no further information will be released about her treatment. Brooke’s goal is to maintain her sobriety and she believes this is the best option to reach that goal.”

Brooke’s children, twins Max and Bob, will be cared for by their nanny and family:

“Brooke will retain custody of the children, who will remain in their home and familiar surroundings and be under the care of their longtime nanny. Charlie and Brooke’s parents fully support her decision and everyone recognizes the importance of maintaining the children’s normal routine.”

Brooke is required to attend an arraignment hearing in Aspen on December 19th.

Now here’s someone who manages to stay out of the spotlight: ‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling! The author and her husband, Dr. Neil Murray, were in London so J.K. could testify in the UK Media Ethics Inquiry that’s investigating the News of the World phone hacking scandal. Here the couple is arriving back at their hotel.

J.K. testified that it was “hard to say how angry I was” when a reporter slipped a note into her five-year-old child’s schoolbag.

“A child, no matter who their parents are, deserves privacy. … It’s a fairly black-and-white issue.”

J.K. also said she was upset about rumors that an unlikeable character was based on her oldest child’s father, which led to a “horrible” conversation with her child about it. I can see where those things would be upsetting: having a reporter get close enough to a child to slip a note in their bag? That’s unacceptable!

‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1‘ star Kristen Stewart acknowledges that her image in the media is of her being “distant and cold.” Kristen explains it’s not that she truly is distant and cold; she just has a lot to learn about herself, which makes talking about herself in interviews difficult.

“I’m sometimes told I am a very distant and cold person. In real life, I’m very shy. I feel uncomfortable during interviews because I need to talk about myself. But to talk about yourself, you have to know who you are. When it comes to that, I think there are still a lot of things I need to discover about myself.”

Kristen wants people to know that celebrities are just like everyone else.

“Being a celebrity is not really something that bothers me, it’s the way it’s talked about and how actors are perceived by others. People are convinced that just because we’re known, our aspirations are different from theirs. But if they only knew… Our only ambition is to have friends, a good life and interesting projects. Just like everybody.

“People need to stop believing than when I get home, all the doorknobs in my house are made of gold and that I pay someone to make sure my bath’s temperature is just the right one for me.”

When the actors were doing the press for the first ‘Twilight’ movie, I got the distinct impression they were completely unprepared for all the media attention they got. It’s like they didn’t get any kind of media training. I think Kristen is getting better, don’t you?

Singer and actress Christina Milian has signed as the ‘Social Media Correspondent‘ for the second season of ‘The Voice’.

NBC shared:

“Christina’s extensive musical background and widespread recognition make her the perfect choice for the role of Social Media Correspondent on The Voice.  Her experience as a singer will provide a comfort level to our artists when they speak to her about the ins and outs of the competition.”

Christina is replacing Alison Haislip and joins the cast which includes host Carson Daly and mentors/judges Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, and Adam Levine.  Season 2 kicks off in February after the Super Bowl!

Good for Christina!  I’m sure she’ll be great!
